A Cavern-Style Reef with Wide Openings
Molash Cave is defined by its broad, light-filled cavern spaces carved into the reef. These openings are easy to navigate and remain within recreational limits, offering a sense of adventure without requiring advanced cave training. The surrounding reef features coral blocks, rocky ledges and sandy patches that add variety to the dive.
Depth and Conditions Around the Cavern
The site typically ranges from 15 to 22 m, with the main cavern features located along a sloping reef. Surge is present but usually gentle, creating a natural “breathing” effect inside the openings. Visibility is often excellent thanks to the site’s offshore position and open structure.
Marine Life in the Caverns and Overhangs
The sheltered spaces attract soldierfish, squirrelfish and small groupers, while the outer reef hosts snappers, fusiliers and the occasional trevally. Macro enthusiasts can find nudibranchs, shrimps and scorpionfish hidden among the rocks. The mix of structure and marine life makes the site rewarding for both wide-angle and macro observation.
A Dive for Confident Recreational Divers
Molash Cave is best suited to divers comfortable with moderate surge and overhead features. The site offers a blend of atmosphere, structure and marine life that makes it a memorable northern-coast dive without being technically demanding.
