Cratère

Cratère (Crater) is a distinctive reef and rock-formation dive site located off the northern coast of Mauritius near Coin de Mire. The site is named for its bowl-shaped depression in the reef, which creates a natural amphitheatre of coral and rock.

With depths ranging from 16 to 28 m, Cratère offers an atmospheric dive with clear water, textured terrain and a lively mix of marine life. It is best suited to intermediate divers who enjoy exploring structured reef formations.

A Natural Coral Crater

The defining feature of the site is its crater-like formation: a circular depression surrounded by coral-covered rock walls. This creates a sheltered, visually striking environment that feels like descending into a natural underwater bowl.
