Band Rouge (Bande Rouge) is a colourful northern-coast reef site named after the distinctive “red band” of coral and rock that runs across part of the formation. This natural stripe creates a striking visual contrast and serves as a clear landmark during the dive.
With a depth range of 12–25 m, the site suits intermediate and advanced divers who enjoy exploring layered reef contours, healthy coral growth and the occasional encounter with larger fish in clear, open water.

A Reef Marked by Its Red Band
The defining feature of Band Rouge is the reddish coral and rock coloration that gives the site its name. This band runs across the reef like a natural stripe, standing out against the surrounding blues and greens. The terrain combines coral bommies, sandy patches and small ridges, creating a varied and visually appealing landscape.
A Depth Profile for Confident Divers
Ranging from 12 to 25 m, the site offers a comfortable multi-level dive. The upper section is bright and lively, while the deeper contours become more atmospheric and open. The lower part of the reef requires good buoyancy control and situational awareness, making it best suited to divers with some experience at depth.
Marine Life Across the Reef
Band Rouge hosts a healthy mix of tropical species, including snappers, wrasses, angelfish and small groupers. Rays often glide along the sandy channels, and the deeper ledges attract trevallies and occasional barracudas. The coral structures also shelter macro life such as nudibranchs, shrimps and scorpionfish.
Clear Water and Strong Colour Contrast
The northern-coast visibility highlights the site’s distinctive red band and the surrounding coral formations. The contrast between the coloured rock, the bright sand and the open blue water creates a visually rich dive that feels both calm and dynamic.
A Scenic Reef Dive for Intermediate and Advanced Divers
Band Rouge offers a rewarding blend of colour, structure and marine life. Its unique red band, layered depth profile and clear-water conditions make it a memorable reef dive on the northern coast.
