A Dramatic Deep‑Reef Formation
Roche Zozo South features large coral pinnacles and jagged rock structures rising sharply from the sandy bottom. The site’s name refers to the bird‑like shapes formed by the rocks when viewed from certain angles.
A True 40‑Meter Deep Dive
With depths ranging from 35 to 40 m, this site requires solid buoyancy control, careful gas planning and comfort with deeper profiles. The depth adds atmosphere and scale, enhancing the sense of exploration.
Pelagic Encounters and Schooling Fish
The site’s exposure to ocean currents attracts trevallies, tunas, barracudas and other pelagic species. Schools of fusiliers, snappers and surgeonfish move around the pinnacles, creating dynamic scenes.
Clear Water and Impressive Visibility
The south‑east coast often offers excellent visibility, allowing divers to appreciate the height of the coral structures and the deep‑blue backdrop. Light filtering down the pinnacles creates a striking visual effect.
A Dive Reserved for Advanced Divers
Roche Zozo South is best suited for advanced divers with experience in deep and mildly exposed conditions. Its combination of depth, structure and pelagic life makes it one of the top dives in the Mahébourg area.
