A Colourful Cavern in the Outer Reef
The site features a small cavern‑style indentation formed by coral growth and natural erosion. The interior walls are covered with purple and violet corals, giving the site its distinctive name.
A Comfortable 20‑Meter Profile
With a depth range of 18–22 m, Purple Cave is ideal for divers who enjoy gentle overhead environments without exceeding recreational limits. The swim‑through is wide and short, making it suitable for intermediate divers.
Reef Life Around the Cave
The surrounding reef hosts snappers, goatfish, soldierfish and the occasional lobster hiding in crevices. The outer‑reef setting also attracts small pelagics cruising along the drop‑off.
Clear Water and Soft Light
The south‑east coast often provides excellent visibility, allowing the purple corals inside the cave to stand out. Light entering from both sides of the opening creates a photogenic atmosphere.
