Drift
La Passe du Puits is a classic east‑coast pass drift dive near Quatre Cocos / Belle Mare. Divers enter from the boat and are carried through a narrow channel by tidal flow, drifting over coral edges and sandy gutters at depths typically between 3 and 18 m.
The experience is dynamic and fast‑moving, offering a sense of flying along the reef while watching schooling fish and larger visitors patrol the pass.

Site Character
La Passe du Puits is a narrow channel cut through the reef that produces a sustained drift. The route typically follows coral bommies, ledges and sandy channels; visibility can be excellent but changes with tide and swell. The dive is usually planned as a one‑way drift with a prearranged boat pickup at the exit point.
Marine Life
The pass attracts schooling trevallies and jacks, eagle rays and occasional reef sharks. Smaller reef species—wrasses, butterflyfish, damselfish and cleaner stations—line the coral edges, while sandy patches may host rays and flatfish. Seasonal pelagic visitors can appear along the channel.
Depth and Profile
Depths range from about 3 m in the shallowest sections to 18 m in the deeper gutters. Typical profiles are shallow‑to‑moderate, but the drift nature of the site means divers should monitor depth and ascent rate closely and follow the guide’s plan for safety stops and pickup procedures.
