Castle is a mid‑depth reef dive site located in the Belle Mare area on the east coast of Mauritius. With depths between 14 and 23 m, it features tall coral structures and rocky formations that resemble castle towers, giving the site its name.
The site offers good visibility, gentle conditions and a colourful reef environment suitable for OWD‑level divers looking for a slightly deeper and more scenic dive.

Castle‑Like Coral Formations
The site is characterised by tall coral blocks and rocky “towers” rising from the sandy bottom. These structures create a dramatic and visually striking underwater landscape.
A Comfortable 14–23 Meter Profile
The depth range is ideal for OWD‑level divers progressing into mid‑depth reef diving. Navigation is straightforward thanks to the clear layout and sandy channels.
Colourful Reef Life
Parrotfish, snappers, goatfish, wrasses and butterflyfish are common. Moray eels, nudibranchs and the occasional turtle can be found around the coral towers.
Clear Water and Gentle Conditions
The Belle Mare outer‑lagoon area often provides excellent visibility and mild current, making the site accessible and enjoyable for all certified divers.
