A Reef of Rocky Patates
The site is characterised by rounded volcanic rock formations known locally as “patates.” These structures create small passages, overhangs and sheltered areas filled with marine life.
A Comfortable 13–17 Meter Profile
The depth range is ideal for OWD‑level divers, offering long bottom times and easy navigation. The gentle slope and sandy channels make the site accessible and enjoyable.
Rich and Colourful Marine Life
Parrotfish, goatfish, emperors, snappers, butterflyfish and flute fish are common. Turtles are frequently seen cruising between the patates, while moray eels and nudibranchs hide among the corals.
Clear Water and Gentle Conditions
The south‑west coast often provides excellent visibility and mild current, highlighting the colours of the reef and the movement of schooling fish.
A Relaxed and Scenic Dive
Trou Aiguille offers a peaceful and visually rich dive suitable for all levels. Its mix of rocky structures and vibrant marine life makes it one of the most enjoyable sites in the Le Morne area.
